I am an Administrator in health care in London for Women and Child health. My background is in healthcare and medicine. I have tried IVF multiples times with a variety of failures and miscarriages that has created complications with my health so I can no longer try to carry the pregnancy myself. I will be using a wonderful surrogate to carry my baby. I have matched with her and we are ready to proceed.
I will likely only have the one child (unless I am blessed with twins) and I really like the idea of embryo donation and the child being able to know about and have contacts with their sibling(s) in America. I will always be honest with my child about their birth story and I hope to find parents that are willing to be connected. I am open to embryos created with donor(s) or biologically yours. The most important aspects are the relationship, for me.
Ideally I would like a caucasian embryos, but otherwise I am open. I look forward to talking with you.
I absolutely love to travel and experience different places and cultures. I’m really looking forward to having a travel buddy, to educate them on all of what the world has to offer.
I like to ski, to swim, jigsaws and being by the sea
- Snapshot of my life and family:
I have a very close group of friends, each of them have their own young children, some of them are single mothers and all of them understand that it takes a village to raise a child. I am part of the support circle. We are there for each other day and night, rain or shine.
They are all hugely supportive my journey into surrogacy and finding an amazing surrogate to help me realise my dream of being a mum to a living child. My parents are brilliant. They support me daily with calls and messages and are physically by my side any time I need it. They are both retired and regularly help my sister with my nieces, and will do the same for me. We talk every day about surrogacy and they want to be involved as much as they can.
My sister is very practical and a problem solver. She’s less emotionally driven. She sees surrogacy as the most sensible thing for me. And also owes me a lot of childcare in return for the last 12 years!
I am fortunate that I have a good job and my boss, who I’ve worked with for nearly a decade is like an older brother to me. He is flexible, supportive and accommodating, always ensuring I put my family first.
- Fertility story:
About my IVF story. After a very messy end to a relationship, I made the decision that I wanted to do something for myself, to help preserve my fertility, so I went into a clinic expecting to freeze some eggs. To my surprise, shock and horror, the testing showed that I had a very low ovarian reserve for my age and that I may not be able to produce any quality eggs. Unfortunately the testing was correct and after two abandoned stimulation cycle and one egg collection, I had produced just one egg which didn’t fertilise.
After several months of reflection and therapy I made the decision to keep going with IVF, but using donor embryos. My first transfer was successful and I fell pregnant, only to miscarry at 6 weeks. Following that I had a further 8 transfers which resulted in 3 biochemical pregnancies and 3 further pregnancies and losses. 2 in the first trimester (8 and 10 weeks) and 1 in the second trimester (15 weeks). It was my immune system causing the losses and even with the support of a reproductive immunologist and a huge medication treatment plan, I continued to lose my babies. After that gruelling journey, I again I took some time out to reflect on what had happened and consider if I wanted there to be another chapter to this story, and here I am.
