3 special consideration embryos looking for loving home!
Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me and the three embryos I would like to donate to a loving family! I am a teacher and have two teens from a previous marriage. We enjoy the arts, music, being outdoors, baking, and spending time as a family (we have an expanded family now; I have a new partner and also two stepchildren). These embryos were created in 2019 and sent for PGS testing in 2020. The embryos were created with my eggs and donor sperm (happy to send more photos of me and my teens as well as the donor’s profile!).
I am ready to move forward quite quickly once I find a match. I have just had a potential match fall through with a very nice IP couple and am hoping to find a loving family for these embryos. All three are female embryos. I have labelled them as ”special consideration” since I am on a waiting list to have them retested using a new non-invasive technique (no need to rebiopsy them, they simply keep the embryos at my clinic, thaw them briefly, and test the DNA in the culture medium around the embryos). Am also open to donating them to a family who would transfer them without retesting.
The PGS results in 2020 came back as ”chaotic” for these embryos but studies are finding that this may be testing error, and 40% to 45% of embryos with this label are coming back as euploid (PGS normal) when retested. There is a very good chance that one or two of these embryos is actually PGS normal, so viable! I have already donated two PGS normal embryos from this batch. The couple I have matched with is based in the U.S. and they have shipped the embryos to their clinic from my clinic in Canada and will transfer next month (March 2025). Keeping my fingers crossed for them! I have two teens from a previous marriage and they are in the loop with the donation process; I am hoping to find a family that is happy with a semi-open or open donation arrangement and at least some future contact between our families.
- Snapshot of my life and family:
I have two teens from a previous marriage, a partner, and two step-kids. We also have two dogs from my household plus one from my partner's, so now three dogs! We enjoy board games, time outdoors, cabin weekends, watching movies, and spending time with family, whether nearby or on weekends away. I enjoy gardening and playing music as well as reading, crafts, and baking. My teens are interested in science and social science as future careers; both have a good circle of friends and care about the people around them! Both enjoy reading, crafts or drawing, and outdoor activities like hiking and skiing.
- Fertility story:
I did several rounds of IVF about three years after I divorced. I had dated seriously for two years, hoping to have more children, but the person I was with decided in the end that he did not want to have children together. I pursued IVF on my own using donor sperm since I had really wanted to expand my family. I chose a donor who was also a teacher and who seemed kind and goodnatured! Happy to share the donor profile. There is a FB dibling group and reported births from the donor!
