Hoping to grow my family
Hello! I’m a research professional and a proud mom of a spirited 2½-year-old daughter who lights up my days. She’s bright, funny, inquisitive, empathetic, and fiery. I planned to be “one and done,” but once she was born I knew our story was just beginning. I want my kiddos to have wonderful, creative, and supportive experiences like I did with my sisters and brother. I want them to share giggles, bedtime stories, and lifelong adventures. Please see below for additional details, and feel free to reach out with any questions.
- Snapshot of my life and family:
• What I Do
I work remotely conducting research, writing (overly long!) reports, and advising clients in and beyond academia. After hours you’ll find me hanging out with my daughter, biking, singing off-key, and getting creative with paint or jewelry.• My Daughter and Parenting Approach
Love, balance, and curiosity guide our home. I encourage my daughter to follow her interests, and I love exploring the world with her. Current favorites: books, playgrounds, Spider-Man, stickers (everywhere), coloring, swim lessons, gymnastics, counting, singing, bugs, and inventing new words.• Family & Support
My extended family is large, lively, and loyal. Between parents, stepparents, five siblings, nieces, and nephews, holidays and weekend visits are busy and full of laughter.• Daily Life
I work my desk job from home. My daughter is watched by her dad during the workday, but they are normally at the house with me when they aren't running errands, at the park, or participating in library activities. When the new baby arrives, a daytime nanny will keep both kiddos close so I can pop out of my home office for cuddles, feedings, and extra hugs.• Thanks for taking the time to read about us. Feel free to ask for additional information if you think we might be a good match.
- Fertility story:
In 2021, my partner and I visited a fertility specialist because I had not gotten pregnant despite being off birth control for several years. Given my age (41) and ovarian reserve markers, chances were low for me to have children without IUI or IVF. Almost immediately (and shockingly without treatment), I became pregnant with our daughter. Her father and I co-parent wonderfully, and he is an amazing dad, but we are on different paths.
After much testing and upon the recommendation of my fertility doctor, I determined the best option to grow my family (as a single mom) is through donor embryos. Over the past year, I've gone through all the steps to be approved for IVF with donor embryos and am an excellent candidate. I look forward to this daunting but exciting new chapter for me, my daughter, and our relatively large extended family.
- Infertility diagnosis or N/A:
Not applicable. Given my single status and low ovarian reserve, my doctor recommended embryo adoption.
