Embryo recipients looking to donate 1 remaining tested embryo
Hello,
My husband and I were incredibly fortunate to match with our donor family in 2021 and adopt 4 PGS-tested embryos from them. We transferred 3 of those embryos (results below) and are now looking to donate the remaining female embryo.
Our female donor was 38 and her husband (male donor) were 40 at the time of embryo creation. They believe their fertility issues are due to her endometriosis.
Additional note: our female donor also donated eggs in her early 20s so she “assumes the Ancestry profile will be rather entertaining in 20 years.” 🙂
Results of our three FETs:
– 1st boy embryo: miscarriage at 7 weeks (could have been due to protocol, we did use a different protcol for the below two FETs)
– 1st girl embryo: live birth – 2.5 y/o
– 2nd boy embryo: live birth – 2 month old
Our lovely donor family also has a daughter (full genetic sibling of embryos) who is 4.5 y/o. She came to them via surrogacy, the female donor’s sister carried her (sister’s first trasfer was successful) after they experienced multiple failed transfers.
We have an open relationship with our very kind donor family and would prefer an open relationship for this adoption as well. We exchange texts and photos and have gathered in-person twice and plan to do so about once a year for the forseeable future.
- Snapshot of my life and family:
Two familes (one in California and one in Arizona) looking to donate remaining girl embryo to a loving family and have an open relationship.
- Fertility story:
Our story: Although “young”, healthy and able to carry we had been trying to conceive for more than three years. After 10 IUIs and three miscarriages, we discovered why we haven’t been able to have a baby — I had a chromosomal abnormality (balanced translocation) and low ovarian reserve (which we knew and were treating with IUIs). Although she is healthy, her eggs have genetic issues (unbalanced translocations).
Donors story: After 6 years of IVF, they finally got their miracle baby after female donor's sister kindly offered to carry her for us. After everything we have gone through they made the decision to not expand their family any further and donated their 4 PGS-tested embryos to us. Female donor was 38 and her husband was 40 at the time of embryo creation. They believe their issues are due to her endometriosis.
