We are Taylor and Alex(or John and Alexandra if we’re being formal). We reside in a small town in western Kentucky. Taylor works for our local government, and I work as a nurse in a private primary care practice. We love serving in our church and spending time with our friends and their children. We both grew up on family farms, and feel that has shaped our outlook on life in a lot of ways. A random fact is that we both have a degree in Agriculture. When we are not together, Taylor enjoys working on engines, his 1993 s-10, or his property management business. For me, I enjoy reading, crafting, and volunteering with our local Junior Auxiliary.

Fertility story:
At the age of 18 I was diagnosed with PCOS and knew I would have a harder time conceiving. Fast forward to age 29 and I finally get to marry the love of my life. We decided to start trying for a family right after we got married due to my PCOS diagnoses. We learned after 6 months of trying I do not ovulate. We sought out the help of a fertility doctor and learned not only do I not ovulate, but I also have a low egg count for my age and a rare chromosomal inversion( they aren’t sure if that’s part of the reason for my infertility). We were told IVF would be our best option, but to be open to using donor eggs. We chose to try with my own eggs first. We defied odds and they retrieved 7 eggs, with 6 being mature, 4 fertilizing, but only 1 making it to blast. After genetic testing we learned our only embryo had an extra 16th chromosome making it unusable for transfer. We were told our next step is egg donor or embryo donor. We’ve chosen the embryo donor route.
