Annemie and Shawn
Hi! We are the MacPhee’s, located in PEI, Canada. Shawn and I (Annemie) met in 2017 when Shawn trained me in my first nursing job. We got married in 2019 and started trying to grow our family shortly after. In 2022, we were officially diagnosed with male factor infertility.
Through prayer and lots of time spent reflecting, we felt that embryo donation was the right fit for growing our family. We adopted two embryos from a family in Canada, and did our first transfer in August of 2023. This resulted in our son who is now 2 years old. Our second transfer in April of 2026 did not result in a pregnancy. We would like to do embryo donation again to grow our family further.
During this whole journey, I completed medical school and will be starting my residency in family medicine this summer. Shawn works as a nurse at an infusion clinic. We live in PEI, Canada, which is where we both grew up and have connections to family and friends.
- Snapshot of my life and family:
We live in PEI, Canada, which is the province that we both grew up in and have connections to family and friends. Both sets of grandparents and supportive and love spending time with us/our son. We do weekly suppers with each of them. We are an active family, and enjoy going on daily walks/runs and taking our son to the park. Faith is important to us, and we attend church weekly and we are part of a bible study.
