Embryo Donation Program at Reprofit International

Embryo donation is a fertility treatment that can offer families the chance of parenthood when they need sperm as well as eggs to create a pregnancy. We at Miracles Waiting are always trying to find new opportunities to help our members to have the family that they have always wanted….

We are so excited to share with you some great news!

Reprofit International, a clinic that has helped some of our members have their dreams of parenthood become reality through donated embryos, has offered Miracles Waiting some affordable new options for embryo donation!

If you are open to anonymous embryo donation and to the idea of going to Europe for embryo transfer this is a great opportunity.

Options when considering embryo donation at Reprofit International:

1 - Frozen embryo donation (with two options)

The embryos available for donation in this program were created from donor eggs and donor sperm. The embryos are frozen (vitrified) at blastocyst stage and the clinic has a pregnancy success rate of 45 - 50% with those frozen embryos.

Option 1 – Transfer of two (2) donated grade one vitrified (frozen) blastocysts. There is no waiting time for this option.

They offer a shared risk plan with this option. The way their shared risk plan works is as follows: In case a pregnancy is not achieved after the first transfer of two high quality frozen blastocysts you can have another attempt for half of the price. You will pay the second half of your second attempt only if you get pregnant.

Prices:
1st Frozen Embryo Transfer Attempt (2 embryos) – $2100 USD
2nd Frozen Embryo Transfer Attempt (2 embryos) - $1050 USD (you will just pay the second half if you get a positive pregnancy test)

These prices don’t include the medication for the recipient and that usually runs between $200 - $300 USD.

Other fees/expenses to consider would be the $300 USD coordination service fee and travel.

Travel usually runs between $1500 - $2000 USD.

But this will depend on how you travel and where you are traveling from. For the regular traveler that will be traveling from the US to the Czech Republic, they would be looking at an estimate of between $1500 - $2000 for the airplane ticket, hotels, food and transportation within the Czech Republic.

So, you will be looking at about $4200 – $4700 USD for a frozen embryo transfer of two (2) donated embryos at Reprofit.

Option 2 – Transfer of one (1) grade one vitrified (frozen) donated blastocyst. This option is available for couples that want to avoid twins. There is no waiting time for this option.

This option also includes a shared risk plan where you can have a second attempt for half of the price if you don’t get pregnant on your first try.  You will pay the second half of your second attempt only if you get pregnant.

Prices:
1st Frozen Embryo Transfer Attempt (1 embryo) – $1400 USD
2nd Frozen Embryo Transfer Attempt (1 embryo) - $700 USD (you will pay the second half only if you get a positive pregnancy test)

So, you will be looking at about $3500 – $4000 USD for a frozen embryo transfer of one (1) donated embryo at Reprofit.

2 – Fresh embryo donation – From vitrified (frozen) eggs and frozen sperm

With this option you will receive 6 - 8 vitrified (frozen) donated eggs. Those eggs will be thawed and fertilized with donor sperm or husband sperm. If you choose this option, you will be using on the day of your transfer fresh embryos (not frozen) that where created for you with the frozen eggs of a young, healthy, attractive egg donor and high quality sperm from a young, healthy, attractive sperm donor. There is no waiting time for this option.

With this option they guarantee at least one (1) TOP quality blastocyst for transfer. They will transfer two embryos to recipient women if two embryos are available for transfer. They will not transfer more than two embryos to the recipient mother. If more than two embryos are available at transfer you will have the option of freezing the remaining ones for later use.

They just started offering frozen eggs at their clinic and they have had promising results but they don’t currently have the statistics.

Price:
Fresh Embryo donation (embryos created from 6 - 8 frozen donor eggs and frozen donor sperm) – $4500 USD

This price doesn’t include the medication for the recipient and that usually runs between $200 - $300 USD.

Other fees/expenses to consider would be the $300 USD coordination service fee and travel.

Travel usually runs between $1500 - $2000 USD.

So, you will be looking at about $6500 – $7000 USD for a fresh embryo transfer of at least one (1) TOP quality blastocyst created from frozen donor egg and frozen donor sperm.

3 - Fresh embryo donation – From fresh eggs and frozen sperm

For this option the recipient family will be matched with their own egg donor. The egg donor and recipient's cycles are synchronized and the retrieved eggs are fertilized by donor sperm. The embryos will be transferred fresh to the recipient’s uterus and the clinic has a pregnancy success rate of over 60% with this option. There is a 3-4 month waiting time for this option.

The clinic guarantees at least two (2) TOP quality blastocysts available at transfer. You will have the option of freezing any remaining embryos for later use. A one year embryo storage fee is already included in the treatment price.

Price:
Fresh Embryo donation (embryos created from fresh donor eggs and frozen donor sperm) – 5500 USD

This price doesn’t include the medication for the recipient and that could run between $300 - $500 USD for an egg donor cycle with donor sperm (fresh embryo donation).

Other fees/expenses to consider would be the $300 USD coordination service fee and travel.

Travel usually runs between $1500 - $2000 USD.

So, you will be looking at about $8500 – $9000 USD for a fresh embryo transfer of at least two (2) TOP quality blastocysts that were created from fresh donor eggs and frozen donor sperm.

Matching process

The clinic will personally match you according to your physical characteristics as close as possible (hair/eye color, height, weight and blood type) to embryos they have available in their data base, or with donated frozen eggs they have available, or with an egg donor, depending on the option you choose for embryo donation.

The sperm donor: You can choose a sperm donor available from the clinic sperm bank to fertilize your donor’s frozen eggs or fresh eggs.

Who may be an embryo recipient – The law

Under the current Czech Republic law, Reprofit International is allowed to accept women up to 50 years of age (49 years +364 days) who would like to receive donated embryos.

The law restricts fertility treatment for gays and lesbians. An embryo recipient woman has to be married or in a relationship with a male partner. Your husband/partner will be required to sign the form(s) agreeing with the use of donated sperm to create embryos to be transferred to your uterus. Your husband/partner will not be required to travel with you to the clinic for embryo transfer but you will need to take with you his signed authorization indicating his permission for the use of donor sperm to create the embryos. This consent form will be provided by Reprofit. Also, you will need to show a copy of his passport or an ID card like a driver's liscence when arriving at the clinic.

A surrogate (gestational carrier) can be used to carry the pregnancy for you. However, you will need to bring to the clinic with you your own surrogate from your own country for embryo transfer. You will also need to have a legal contract between you and your surrogate to present to the clinic before embryo transfer.

Who are the egg donors?

The Czech laws mandate that egg and sperm donors must stay anonymous. This results in a large pool of donors willing to donate, but because of their anonymity you will not be able to learn any identifiable information about your donors.

Reprofit’s egg donors are Caucasian, healthy, anonymous volunteer citizens of the Czech Republican that have met very strict criteria for oocyte donor selection (Guidelines for oocyte donation of The American Society of Reproductive Medicine, published in Fertility and Sterility, Vol. 77, No. 6, Suppl. 5, June 2002)

All egg donors undergo gynecology, endocrinology and genetic testing and they are repeatedly tested for the presence of sexually transmitted diseases (HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis and Chlamydia).

• Age from 18 to 33
• Good medical history
• Without any abnormalities in familial history
• With negative genetic testing
• With negative results testing for sexually transmitted diseases
• Without psychiatric disease

Who are the sperm donors?

Reprofit International has its own sperm bank where the sperm of healthy, attractive, anonymous volunteer men is stored.

Sperm donors at Reprofit can be any young men that meet the following criteria:

• Age from 18 to 35
• Normospermia
